Buddhism is the practice of the teachings of Buddha, also called “dharma” which means protection. It is by putting the teachings of Buddha into practice that living beings protect themselves from suffering permanently. In the year 589 BC. JC, in Bodh Gaya in India, Buddha Shakyamuni the founder of Buddhism, showed how to achieve the achievement of enlightenment. He then expounded his profound and valuable teachings and Buddhism began to flourish in this world.
In our time we can see many different forms of Buddhism, such as Zen Buddhism, Theravada Buddhism, Kadampa Buddhism etc. These different aspects of Buddhism have their origins in the teachings of Buddha and are therefore equally valuable as each other. , only their presentations differ. Kadampa Buddhism is a school of Mahayana Buddhism founded by the great Indian Buddhist master Atisha (982-1054). The lineage of these teachings, or oral transmission, passed from teacher to disciple and spread throughout most of Asia and today to many countries around the world.
