Kloster Hassel

Your Page Title

User Profile
The monastic institution developed in Hassel Monastery, a landscape area measuring several hectares. The core of the complex are the half-timbered houses and buildings of the small village of Hassel, whose beginnings - according to historical material - can be found in the Middle Ages (16th century). The small old village has developed into a monastic hermitage. Secluded, idyllically grown on the mountainside of a clearing, surrounded for miles on all sides by meadows and forest and only accessible via forest paths, it offers the ideal conditions for a secluded religious life, quiet practice and inner contemplation.

When renovating the buildings and the monastery village, emphasis was placed on building biology, ecology and allergy-friendly construction and furnishings. Founding bhikkhuni: Ven Bhikkhuni Dhamma Maha Theri
