Greetings to everyone. I am 82 and a lifelong seeker of truth and wisdom. I’ve seen a lot of decades rise and pass away and my intention is to devote as much time as I have left to following the dhamma and continuing to learn to gladden the mind and open the heart. Listening to Dhammarato’s interviews with Guru Viking have been a pleasure. As well as very educational. And they have been a great help to me for understanding the teachings of the Buddha. I do meditate every day for about an hour. My bio could easily encompass many pages but I would rather not take up a lot of space talking about that. Maybe if I say that I first meditated doing Zazen in about 1967 in San Francisco. Suzuki Roshi was around in those days and I had the chance to sit with him a few times. After that I spent about 15 years living in a spiritual community and although we didn’t practice meditation much, we did practice non-violence and we ate a vegan diet. I am a father, and now a grandfather as well. For the past 8 years I have been practicing Theravada meditation, mindfulness of breath. I’ve been retired for several years and these days I spend a lot of time listening to podcasts and reading books related to Theravada practice. I live in Oakland, California.
