This founding date was both De facto and De jure. It now claims to be the first Thai Buddhist temple in the United States to be a full-fledged temple both legally and ecclesiastically.

This founding date was both De facto and De jure. It now claims to be the first Thai Buddhist temple in the United States to be a full-fledged temple both legally and ecclesiastically.

My practice originally started with basic samatha from online sources. I then joined the local Tibetan Buddhist organisation and took refuge eventually. In the back of my mind I always found the original teachings of the Buddha more appealing and seemed more straight forward. I found some teachings in vajrayana a bit to esoteric for my liking. Through listening to the Guru viking podcast I learnt about Dhammarato and made contact. Around the same time I made friends with the local Thai monks and visit the temple regularly.
