The Dharma Drum Retreat Center is located about ninety miles northwest of New York City in the valley of the Shawangunk Mountains near Pine Bush New York. Founded by Chan Master Sheng Yen in 1997, it is dedicated to the teaching and practice of Chan meditation and the living of Dharma. We are working to create a vibrant and harmonious community for practitioners from around the world and local areas.
Intensive Chan meditation retreats are conducted under the personal guidance of Chan Master Sheng Yen and his senior disciples four times a year. Shorter retreats are led by senior disciples of Chan Master Sheng Yen.
