User Profile
East End Dharma Group is a satellite group of Kagyu Thubten Choling Monastery. EEDG's main function is to act as a meeting place for practitioners of Tibetan Buddhism who live on the East End of Long Island.

East End Dharma Group is particularly associated with the Kagyu and Shangpa Kagyu Lineages, as taught by H.E. Kalu Rinpoche, and Ven. Lama Norlha Rinpoche. EEDG acts as a place where those interested in the Kagyu lineage can meet to practice meditation, and learn about the Dharma.

Shinay - 'Calm Abiding' Meditation and the recitation of the Chenrezi Sadhana are the two practices for which members of East End Dharma Group meet weekly.

Novice practitioners are taught Shinay meditation and our experienced group members may participate in the recitation of the Chenrezi Sadhana.

Additionally, EEDG sends out daily Dharma quotes and also acts as a signpost for those interested, in where to find geniuine Dharma teachers, teachings, and information.

Meetings are generally free of charge, but currently we are meeting at the Ocean Zendo in Sagaponack, N.Y. Since we are using their propane and electricity, at least a $5.00 donation to the Zendo is recommended.
