The Odiyana Buddhist Center is a non-profit organization based in Hartford, Connecticut; established in 1996 in response to local people.

We are a member of the New Kadampa Tradition. This tradition is an international Mahayana Buddhist organization founded by Tibetan Buddhist Master, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. The Center offers the study and meditation programs of <a href="http://www.kadampa.org/">Kadampa Buddhism</a>, under the guidance of our principal teacher, <a href="http://www.meditationinconnecticut.org/ourteachers.htm#tenzin">Gen Kelsang Tenzin</a>.

The Center is founded on the belief that it is possible for everyone to cultivate positive states of mind that will produce a happier life. We strive to provide a peaceful yet enriching environment for people to deepen their understanding and experience of meditation practice and Buddhist studies. We hope that as a result of our spiritual practice and care for others, many living beings will find lasting happiness. The Center offers many ways to learn more about Buddhism through study and/or practical experience.
