It was founded in 1981 by Thai people living in Oregon, and its purpose is to serve as a place of meditation and merit-making for Buddhists. The temple is the first Thai temple in Oregon. Within the temple are the following important structures: ubosot (ordination hall), vihara (assembly hall), sala kan parian (preaching hall), kuti song (monk's quarters), and ho rakhang (bell tower).
