Wat Sangkhathan, Birmingham, England, was founded in 1952. 1987 by British Buddhists And a number of Thais residing in the United Kingdom, with Mr. Preecha LATHE as the leader, have rented a house at number 27, BAYSWATER Road, BIRMINGHAM, to provide temporary accommodation for monks. After that, they gathered money together to buy a house at number 69, COUPERS Road, BIRMINGHAM, built as a Thai temple named “Wat Sangkhathan” for monks to stay for the rainy season to practice religious duties and teach Buddhist teachings. In 1990, the temple sold house number 69, COOPERS Road, BIRMINGHAM. and bought a house at number 107, HANDSWORTH WOOD Road, BIRMINGHAM,
then moved the temple to this new location until now.

Incidentally, due to the amount of money received from the sale of the original house It was not enough to completely pay the price for the new house, and the Birmingham Sanghathan Temple did not have enough money to pay the remaining price. Ms. Wanida Suwannacheep (now deceased) therefore donated four million baht. and lend another amount of money Four million baht only By allowing the temple to pay in installments later.
