Understanding Chemotherapy
Chemotherapy medicines work by targeting cells that divide rapidly. Because cancer cells often multiply more quickly than normal cells, they can be particularly susceptible to these medicines. However, some healthy cells also divide rapidly, which can contribute to treatment-related side effects.
Chemotherapy may be administered intravenously, orally, through injections, or by other specialized delivery methods. The treatment schedule varies according to the cancer type, medication, treatment objective, and individual patient factors.

Palliative treatment: For advanced cancers, chemotherapy may help control disease progression and relieve symptoms.
Factors Driving Advances in Chemotherapy
The growing global cancer burden continues to support demand for effective cancer treatment options. Improvements in cancer diagnosis have also enabled physicians to identify diseases at different stages and develop more individualized treatment strategies.
