Our sangha is in the tradition of Zen Buddhist Master Thich Nhat Hahn
and his Order of Interbeing.  It meets every Monday from 7:30-9:00 PM in
the Clara Barton Room of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of
Raleigh. You do not have to be a member of the UUFR to sit with us.
People of all ages, ethnicities, religious affiliations, and levels of
skill or experience are welcome to join us.  Our general format each
week includes:

1st Monday:  reading in advance and Dharma discussion   
     2nd Monday: recitation of the Five Mindfulness Trainings of the
Order of Interbeing  
     3rd Monday:  focus on silent meditation  
     4th Monday: leader's choice   
     5th Monday: potluck dinner at 6:30 PM, with business meeting-
then, leader's choice  
 
We typically begin and end each evening with silent meditation.
Normally, there will also be a time for introducing
ourselves, sharing our joys and concerns, and making announcements or
updates. We usually take a 5-10 minute stretch
break at some point, too.  Members of our group sign up to lead the
weekly meetings in advance. Anyone who feels comfortable doing so is
encouraged to try leading.  We ask that every week each person leave a
one dollar donation to help support the Touching and Healing Program in
Vietnam, a bi-annual donation to the UUFR, and new materials such as
candles for our group. This, however, is completely optional.
