	Brecon Kadampa Buddhist Centre Swansea Wales info@meditati		THE OLD KADAMPA LINEAGE TO THE PRESENT NEW KADAMPA TRADITION Kadampa Buddhism is a Mahayana Buddhist school founded by the great Indian Buddhist Master Atisha (AD 982-1054). His followers are known as ‘Kadampas’. Ka refers to Buddha’s teachings, and dam to Atisha’s special Lamrim instructions known as ‘the stages of the path to enlightenment’. Kadampas, then, are practitioners who regard Buddha’s teachings as personal instructions and put them into practice by following the instructions of Lamrim. The Kadampa tradition was later promoted widely in Tibet by Je Tsongkhapa and his followers, who were known as the ‘New Kadampas’. Transforming daily activities into the path By integrating their knowledge of all Buddha’s teachings into their practice of Lamrim, and by integrating this into their everyday lives, Kadampa Buddhists are encouraged to use Buddha’s teachings as practical methods for transforming daily activities into the path to enlightenment. The great Kadampa Teachers are famous not only for being great scholars but also for being spiritual practitioners of immense purity and sincerity.

Since coming to the West in 1977, he has transmitted all the essential teachings and practices of Modern Kadampa Buddhism and provided training and support for hundreds of modern Kadampa Teachers. By founding the New Kadampa Tradition, the International Kadampa Buddhist Union in 1991, Geshe Kelsang has created a truly global infrastructure to preserve and promote Kadampa Buddhism for many generations to come. It is through his kindness that we are able to access the precious teachings of Kadampa Buddhism and have the opportunity to attain the ultimate goal of human life, the supreme permanent mental peace of enlightenment, and be able to lead all living beings to the same state. OurTeachers KMC Wales classes and courses are delivered by trained and qualified Kadampa Teachers. Principal Teacher: Kadam Paul Jenkins The principal Teacher at KMC Wales is Kadam Paul Jenkins. He is a dedicated student of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso and has been studying and teaching Kadampa Buddhism for over 30 years. The title “Kadam,” was given to him by Ven Geshe Kelsang indicating that he is a senior lay teacher of the Kadampa Tradition. Kadam Paul has deep experience of practicing meditation and teaching Kadampa Buddhism at all levels. He is much loved for the clarity and warmth of his teachings and shows the example of how to integrate Modern Buddhism within a busy, professional, family life. Kadam Paul was born in North Wales and is a fluent Welsh speaker. His relaxed and friendly approach helps students easily take the teachings to heart and put them into practice in daily life.

	forest hermitage Lower Fulbrook Warwic info@		The Forest Hermitage (วัดป่าสันติธรรม) is a branch of Wat Nong Pah Pong (วัดหนองป่าพง), the late Luang Por Chah’s principal monastery in North East Thailand. Set in the Heart of England it is a small, peaceful Buddhist hermitage and comprises Santidhamma, the original property where the monks live and where occasional events open to the public are held, and Bhavana Dhamma, which is for nuns, female devotees and guests. The Forest Hermitage Trust and the Buddha-Dhamma Fellowship are responsible for both properties. The community is led by Ven. Chao Khun Bhavanaviteht
