	Vajrayogini Buddhist Center Washington DC info@meditate		Kadampa Meditation Center Washington D.C. was established in September 1994 as Vajrayogini Kadampa Buddhist Center. Originally based in the NW quadrant of Washington D.C. After many years of renting commercial spaces, in Fall 2016 due to the kindness of the International Temple’s Project fund, a church property was purchased in the Southwest Waterfront neighborhood of Washington D.C. for the purposes of creating a city World Peace Temple in Washington D.C. In early 2019 the upper floor of the Temple building underwent extensive renovations to create a beautiful 250 person meditation room and a 3 bedroom residential apartment. The lower level of the building has a second meditation room for 20 people, a community area, bookstore and dining area. In June 2019 our Deputy Spiritual Director, Gen-la Jampa opened the Temple with a ribbon cutting ceremony and special weekend course on Modern Buddhism, with teachers and practitioners from across the US attending. The Temple is open to the public and offers all three study programs, weekend courses, retreats.
