Open Sangha Foundation
Thank you for visiting Open Sangha Foundation web site. We are dedicated to the
idea that there is only one Buddhism, that all the linages have just one goal
and that is the moment by moment freedom form discomfort and dissatisfaction.
While the teachings of the Buddha (Buddha Dhamma) was spread in Asia centuries
ago by Nobles who properly understood the subtle and profound teachings. The dhamma
has been spread and propagated in the west by ordinary people who did not learn it
properly before they stared to teach. The Noble teaching is considered priceless as
well as profound, so priceless that the tradition is that it is given out without
charge. No money is required, not even the request for donations. The teachings
include generosity and if the student is gaining value from the teachings they will
naturally be generous back to the teacher for his love and caring for his students.

| Many western Buddhists see the various linages and separate sects like Christianity has split into major sectarian factions, but the teachings of the Buddha remain unified. The distinctions are all merely cultural. There is Tibetan culture, but no Tibetan Buddhism, just Buddhism dressed up in Tibetan culture, same is true all over Asia. It is only in Western Buddhism that sectarianism is found. Many Zen and Tibetan monks visit Thailand to study and practice. Here is an example with the Deli Lama visiting Bhikkhu Buddhadasa in Thailand. | |
