What is the Yamantaka Center?
We are a Buddhist Center affiliated with the FPMT (Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition), dedicated to meditation and the study of Tibetan Buddhism. Since the founding of the Yamantaka Center in July 1994 in San José, California, USA, our main purpose has been to help the greatest number of people through the ancient practices and knowledge offered by the tradition of Tibetan Mahayana Buddhism to transform the mind. .

The FPMT is an international organization, dedicated to the preservation and dissemination of Mahayana Buddhism throughout the world by creating opportunities to listen, reflect, meditate, practice and update the unequivocal teachings of the Buddha and, based on that experience, spread the Dharma to sentient beings. Thanks to the FPMT and its guidelines, our Yamantaka Center seeks to achieve this purpose in Colombia and Spanish-speaking countries. The FPMT was founded by Lama Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rinpoche, following all their commitments and guidelines according to the wishes of the Holiness of the fourteenth Dalai Lama.

Lama Kyabje Thubten Zopa Rinpoche, is our Master and spiritual director of the FPMT, was born in 1946 in the Thami village in the Solu Khumbu region, in (Nepal.) and was recognized at the age of 3 as the reincarnation of the Lama of the Lawudo, a great meditator from his region. Our spiritual guide is His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

Thanks to the kindness and generosity of Lama Zopa Rinpoche, we were assigned a resident Master (Geshe) for Colombia. This is the Tibetan Master Geshe Lobsang Kunchen, who currently resides at the Yamantaka Center since March 2013 Bogotá, Colombia.
