Centrul de Meditatie Vipassana Dumbrava de Sus

The Vipassana meditation center from Dumbrava de Sus was founded in 1997 by Ardelean Farcas who is also the founder of the "Children of the Sun" Cultural Association. Together with the founding members of the association the guide Ardelean Farcas laid the foundations of the center around which a community of young and enthusiastic people was formed. This mountain settlement with mioritic landscape and pure vibration had already been discovered in 1984 by the then very young Ardelean Farcas.

The place where the center is located is part of Dumbrava de Sus village Ribita commune Hunedoara county and has an old story. It is located at the top of the mountain at an altitude of 700 m and was once called La Junc because here the villagers grazed their herds of cattle throughout the summer.
