Geshe Kelsang Gyatso was a Buddhist monk, meditation teacher, scholar, and author. He was the founder and spiritual director of the
New Kadampa Tradition-International Kadampa Buddhist Union, a registered non-profit, modern Buddhist organization that came out of the Gelugpa school/lineage.
