Wat Buddhasothorn means "the temple of the Buddha's enlightenment" in Thai.

The first temple is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA. It was founded in 1994 by Thai immigrants who wanted to have a place to practice their religion and culture. The temple offers meditation classes, religious ceremonies, cultural festivals, and community services for Buddhists and non-Buddhists alike. The temple is led by three monks who live on the premises and provide guidance and teachings to the congregation.
