Wat Tham ThongChom Thong Insight Meditation Center

Our International Department of Wat Chom Tong welcomes visitors worldwide to discover Vipassana Meditation based on the Four Foundations of Mindfulness as taught by the late Venerable Ajarn Tong Sirimangalo. Meditators will learn how to apply mindfulness to the Body, Feelings, Mind, and Mind Objects using simple and structured exercises of mindful prostration, walking, and sitting meditation.

The Vipassana Meditation Center at Wat Chom Tong was founded in 1993 by the late Venerable Phra Ajarn Tong Siramangalo. In the year 2000, the International Department, for foreign students, officially opened and titled the Northern Vipassana International Meditation Center.

Wat Phradhatu Sri Chom Tong Voravihara (Royal Buddhist temple) is one of the most famous temples in Northern Thailand (Chiang Mai province). The Temple is situated on a Holy Buddhist Site with a history dating back over 2,500 years to the time of the Buddha. Enshrined inside the Temple, is a highly revered relic of the Buddha.
